Switching to Modern or Modern 2026

Daily Organiser now provides three interface options:

  • Classic – the original interface.
  • Modern – improved performance by processing data on the user's computer rather than the server.
  • Modern 2026 – includes all Modern functionality plus the latest Daily Organiser enhancements.

Which version should I use?

The Modern and Modern 2026 views are recommended for users with a computer that has:

  • At least a 2-core CPU running at 1.5 GHz or higher.
  • At least 8 GB of RAM.

Because processing occurs on the user's computer, newer, higher-specification devices will generally provide a faster experience than older computers.

What's new in Modern 2026?

Modern 2026 includes all the features available in Modern, plus support for the new Groups functionality, which allows planned items to be organised into named groups.

Groups are available in:

Groups make it easier to organise and manage planned absences, casual staff and room availability by grouping related entries together.

Important: Upgrading to Modern 2026

When opening a Daily Organiser dataset in Modern 2026 for the first time, you will be prompted to upgrade the dataset.

This upgrade is required because Modern 2026 introduces new functionality that is not compatible with the previous data model.

Once any user upgrades a dataset:

  • The dataset cannot be opened in either Classic or Modern.
  • All users accessing that dataset must use Modern 2026.
  • The upgrade only needs to be completed once for each Daily Organiser dataset.

Before upgrading, ensure everyone who accesses the dataset is ready to move to Modern 2026.
