We often get asked about using Timetabling Solutions V10 on Azure Virtual Desktop.

Below is an example of a standard configuration supporting up to 10 concurrent users. Note that your configuration should always be customized to fit your organisation's specific security and network settings.

Setup:
Two VMs with 16-core, 64GB memory, load-balanced within a single host pool.

Conditional Access Policy Considerations:
The conditional access policy can be used to disable the MFA prompt if the user's geolocation is accepted (ie set it to allow only users located in Australia) and the last MFA authentication token is active (if they are signed into any other Microsoft apps).

Persistent Storage:
FSLogix Individual profile for each user via Entra ID.

Privilege Management Considerations:
Users can be assigned a limited power user group that allows them to install/update V10. If this is not set, an admin must log in to the host VM to update the app. Once the host machine is updated, all users signing in to AVD can access the newly installed version.

Network Access Considerations:
A one-way spoke network can be connected to your primary network, allowing you to leverage existing security configurations and conditional policies to manage traffic in and out of the AVD.

Custom Configuration Considerations:
Consider allowing users access to the local machine peripherals for camera, mic, multi-screen, and other interactions with the local machine.

Individual Application Access Considerations:
Managed with application groups in AVD, limiting which installed applications/programs users can access.

Restriction Considerations:
Local and virtual disk access restrictions.

Restrictions on cloud and external storage.

Bandwidth restrictions on media.

Scaling:
Scaling is recommended to be set to depth-first, which will saturate a core first before allocating other cores.
