Commencing 1st December, we will be migrating all data into separate databases. We estimate all schools will be completed before the start of the 2024 school year.
A separate database means only your data will be in that database, which has the benefit of improving overall performance.
During a migration, you will be unable to sign in.
For schools that do not use Daily Organiser, a migration will take approximately 20 minutes. For those using Daily Organiser, the length of time is determined by the number of files and the size of the files.
Schools that do not use Daily Organiser will be run during the day. Schools that use Daily Organiser will run overnight. Larger data sets will be run over the weekends.
In some instances, a migration may fail, which will send your Global Administrators an email (see example below).
Our developer team will also be automatically notified.
There is nothing for you to do. Your data is fine, and you can continue working. The data is not damaged, it simply was unable to be successfully written to another database.
Your Global Administrator/s can also perform the migration, by going to Management Portal, task [5] Settings, Storage and selecting Migrate Database. If your school already has been migrated, the status will show "Your school is currently using a separate database".
