Open the link in a separate window

Summary:
Attempting to open a file and returns the message File is in use by another user.


Cause:
The file was opened but not closed correctly or another user is in the file.


Resolution:

Note: when you open a file, a *.DAT file is created in the same location of the file and will remain present whilst you have the file open.  When you exit the file, the *.DAT file is erased.  While the *.DAT file is present no other user can open the file.


1.  Browse to the location of the file

2.  You should see a DAT file which is named [your machine name]---[filename].DAT and if you are certain that no one is in the file then delete this file
