This message appears because the Modern version of Daily Organiser has been updated to support changes to the way Planned Day activities are stored and managed.

These changes required a new underlying data model. As a result, the updated version is not backwards compatible with previous versions of Daily Organiser.

Why is this upgrade required?

Recent enhancements to Planned Day functionality introduced changes to the structure of the data stored within Daily Organiser.

Because the new data format is incompatible with the previous format:

  • all users working on the same Daily Organiser file must use the same version
  • once a file has been upgraded, it cannot be opened in an earlier version
  • users can no longer switch between Classic and Modern for that Daily Organiser file

This ensures that all users see the same information and prevents data corruption or inconsistencies.

Which option should I choose?

Select the option that matches how your school currently uses Daily Organiser:

  • Remain with Classic – Choose this if your school is still using the Classic version.
  • Proceed with Upgrade – Choose this if your school is already using the Modern version, or you are ready for all users to move to the upgraded Modern version.

If your school has a mixture of Classic and Modern users, discuss the change with your Daily Organiser administrator before proceeding, as the decision affects all users of that Daily Organiser file.

Can I change my mind later?

No. After a Daily Organiser file has been upgraded, it cannot be reverted to the previous data format.

Will the Classic version continue to be available?

Yes, for a limited time.

The Classic version of Daily Organiser will continue to be available until 24 December 2026. After this date, all schools will need to use the Modern version.

We recommend planning your transition to the Modern version well before the retirement date to ensure a smooth changeover.
