Administration Console
Improved Account Recovery
The account recovery system has been expanded to allow users to disable their 2FA (two factor authentication) via a recovery email, administrators of schools which use SSO (single sign-on) also now have the ability to disable their SSO via a recovery email as well.
Both of these new recovery methods can be accessed using the updates account recovery link on the login page, for users recovering a broken SSO configuration the login page should be accessed using the standard https://timetabling.education URL rather than a configured school specific one.
Improved Application Access Management
The Application Access interface has been improved to give administrators the ability to view at a glance which users have access to each application.
Along with this is the inclusion of our standard item picker for managing the users who do have access.
New User Interface Design
We have overhauled the user interface we use across the majority of our apps to be easier to use and more consistent.
There is now a breadcrumb in the title bar which displays the application you are using, the dataset you’re working on and the interface you’re on.
The sidebar has been changed to use auto-show/hide on hover with the ability to pin it open if necessary.
The schools list has been updated to include a filter box to assist users with access to a large number of schools to locate the one they want.
A new global toolbar has been added which is accessible no matter where you are in an application that allows you to:
Get support help
Change display setting that relate to both the whole application and the current screen you’re on
Print the details of the current screen
View a list of applications you have access to and open one of them
View any system notifications that apply to you
View additional settings including the version of the application you’re using and privacy and licencing information
The name of the school you are current working on is now permanently displayed in the lower right corner of the screen.
The project has updated icons which make differentiating the different files types easier.
The application now has the ability to switch into a Dark Mode theme for those who prefer a darker display. The controls for this can be found in the Display Settings.
Light and Dark themes can be chosen from here or you can leave it in Auto mode (the default) which will match the theme of your OS (Windows/MacOS).
