Summary:
This error message occurs when trying to import data from Excel into Timetabling Solutions V9 & V10.

You may also receive:

Resolution 1:
First, check the file name to ensure that it does not include punctuation such as colons or full stops, as that can also prevent Timetabling Solutions from connecting to the import file.

If the file name is fine, then the file AccessDatabaseEngine2010 Redistributable.exe needs to be installed.

This allows for the communication and data exchange between files that are proprietary to the Microsoft Office package and other applications.

Installation Steps:

1. Close Timetabling Solutions V10

2. Download AccessDatabaseEngine2010 Redistributable.exe

3. Double-click AccessDatabaseEngine2010 Redistributable.exe to start the installation wizard

4. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation

* If you have a 64Bit version of Office installed, you will be prompted to uninstall Office. If so, uninstall Office, install AccessDatabaseEngine2010 Redistributable.exe and then reinstall Office.

** Uninstalling Office does not remove your Office data files. When you re-install, you will be able to add/edit/delete your Office files

5. Open Timetabling Solutions V10 and attempt the import again

Resolution 2:
Convert the data to text format.

1. Save the file to be imported (Excel or CSV) as Text (Tab delimited) (*.txt)

2. Open the Student Options file | Click Import Data & select the relevant data type

3. Select Text file (*.txt) as the file type and browse for the relevant file

4. Select Tab as the delimiter that separates the fields

5. Complete the import

Why is now occurring:
The data access features in the software we use to develop V10, received a required update.  This occurred after update 10.0.1.516 and before 10.0.1.517.  This impacted the Microsoft Print Engine we use to connect to data sources for importing.  We understand a Windows update will be deployed by Microsoft sometime in 2024 that will remove the need for our redistributable, but until then, if the error displays, the fix is to install the redistributable.
